What we believe
Connection is key to recovery from trauma and chronic stress. The work is not about fixing what is broken in you. It is about helping your mind and body feel safe enough to settle.
Recovery from trauma and chronic stress rarely happens in isolation. It begins inside a steady, trusting relationship, and grows from there.
Care is paced around your nervous system. You set the speed, and nothing moves faster than feels safe.
Stress and trauma live in the body, so the body is part of the work, never an afterthought.
What brings people here
Trauma
The weight that lingers in the body long after the moment has passed.
Overwhelm
When everything feels urgent and your system never quite powers down.
Change
Moving through a season that has rearranged who you thought you were.
Patterns
Noticing the same dynamics repeat, and quietly wanting something different.
Distance
Feeling far from yourself, or from the people you once felt close to.
Survival
Functioning on the outside while bracing on the inside, day after day.
The approach
We start slow. You share only what you want to, and we listen for what would help.
Trauma and stress live in the body. We listen to what it is telling us, and pace the work to match.
Clear, practical support that travels home with you, into ordinary days and hard moments alike.
Where to begin
Oak Mountain offers therapy with a team of licensed clinicians, and Katie O'Leary offers focused 1:1 coaching. They are distinct paths, and we will help you find the one that fits.
Therapy · the licensed team
Confidential therapy, week to week.
Steady clinical support with Oak Mountain's licensed clinicians, for the things that do not resolve on their own.
Coaching · 1:1 with Katie
For when weekly talk is not quite enough.
A focused program for people who want more structure, a clearer understanding of their stress responses, and support between sessions.
Not sure which fits?Send a short note and we will help you find the right starting point.

Beyond the session
Healing does not only happen in a weekly hour. Katie shares education and encouragement through a podcast, an active Instagram community, and seasonal workshops, so you can get a feel for the work long before you reach out.

Good to know
Both are offered, and they are different. Therapy is provided by Oak Mountain's licensed clinicians and is ongoing clinical care. Coaching, offered by Katie O'Leary, is education-focused, goal-oriented support for people who want more structure and more contact between sessions. If you are not sure which fits, reach out and we will help you decide.
Oak Mountain is based at The Velvet Mill in Stonington, Connecticut. Some work is offered in person and some virtually. Contact the practice for current formats and availability.
Keep it brief. A sentence or two about what is bringing you here and the best way to reach you is plenty. For your privacy, there is no need to share detailed clinical or personal history in a first note.
Please contact the practice for current information on insurance, payment, and fees. We would rather give you accurate details directly than list something here that may have changed.
You do not have to know. Send a short message, and we will help you find the right path, whether that is therapy, coaching, or simply a conversation first.
That is more common than you might think, and it is completely okay. Many people reach out having never been to therapy or coaching. We will explain how everything works and go at your pace.
Start a conversation
Tell the Oak Mountain team a little about what is bringing you here. Someone from the practice will follow up, usually within one business day.
